Kindergarteners using ipads in class?

I heard that kindergarteners in this school somewhere in the country get to use ipads in class to learn more?! What the heck! I barely even used the home phone at that age! Whatever happened to a pencil some paper and an eraser! Tell me your opinion about kindergarteners using ipads.
