Is He just being nice ?? Any advice appreciated !?

well it certainly sounds like he likes you. his friend asked if he liked you and he didnt disagree or correct him so that is a big sign there. if he was ashamed of you or something he would have told him no we are just friends. plus the constant special attention means he is constantly thinking of you which is probably the biggest sign.
